Workplace charging scheme


The grant covers up to 75% of the total costs of the purchase and installation of EV chargepoints (inclusive of VAT), capped at a maximum of:

  • £350 per socket
  • 40 sockets across all sites per applicant – for instance, if you would like to install them in 40 sites, you will have 1 socket available per site

If you are not eligible for a grant, we can still offer you a range of EV car charges at a competitive price.

EV chargepoint grant for flat owner-occupiers and people living in rented properties

An electric vehicle chargepoint grant (also called an EV chargepoint grant) can help towards the cost of installing an electric vehicle chargepoint socket at your property.

You can apply for this grant if:

  • you own and live in a flat (this includes flats bought through the shared ownership scheme), or you rent a residential property
  • your home has its own private off-street parking space
  • you own an eligible vehicle

Charging your car at home

The HomeSmart charging unit has been designed to provide the user with a simple, mobile phone interactive EV charging solution for the home.

The EV driver can control the charging activity of their WallPod:EV HomeSmart unit using their mobile phone, as well as allowing them to monitor / record all their charging activity, data and history. Installation is supported by a manufacturer supported 3 Year warranty.

EV chargepoint grant for flat owner-occupiers and people living in rented properties

This scheme replaces the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS) and is open to:
• homeowners who live in flats
• people in rental accommodation (flats and single-use properties)

The EV chargepoint grant provides funding of up to 75% towards the cost of installing electric vehicle smart chargepoints at domestic properties across the UK. It replaces the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS) from 1 April 2022.

Are you eligible for a grant?

Total Electrical NE Ltd are authorised by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) to install charge points under the Home and Workplace Charge Schemes.
A customer will qualify if they have a qualifying vehicle and property. The application for the grant will be made by the installer, (Total Electrical NE Ltd).

How much will a Chargepoint cost to install?

The prices for our standard installation are based on the following:

The fitting of a chargepoint to a wall, or other suitable permanent structure. The charge point must be located in a designated off street parking area and fixed at a height where it can not be struck by a vehicle.
Up to 15 metres of black cable, clipped to the wall from the distribution board / electricity supply meter and the chargepoint.
Routing of the cable through a wall up to 500mm (20 inches) thick, where required.
The fitting and testing of electrical connections and protections required for the chargepoint.
An additional three way consumer unit, if required.
Installation of circuit protection in keeping with BS7671 regulations.
Up to 3 metres (10 feet) of plastic conduit to conceal interior wiring.
